Minecraft
Minecraft is a highly addictive arcade style game were you can create many things. When you start to play the game it gives you two options you can either play single-player mode or multiplayer. In multiplayer mode it really is just if you want to join a server or if you want to join a friend's world. In single-player mode you can be by yourself or you can put LAN on and invite a friend. One choice you have to make when creating a world is do you want to be in creative mode or survival mode (you can flip between them with command codes like /gamemode 0) and will determine how you will be playing. Creative mode is just for those who want to build something like a map or a cool house or even to look at everything in a mod or even do a mod showcase for youtube or twitch. In survival mode you have to go explore the vast terrain and build and create what you want but is limited by what items you have but mostly is for adventuring and exploring your world and adapting to it. You can do many things in survival but at first it will go by really slowly since most of the time you will be building and improving your house and getting materials to help you make what you want. If it is modded it can be even longer before you do anything in those mods just because you need a lot more resources for what you will do than vanilla Minecraft. In the end though it is way more satisfying. Stuff like build craft, FTB(feed the beast) mod pack, or even galactic craft makes the game harder, funner, but most of all even more satisfying because then you are making stuff that is cool and helpful like rockets, jet packs, and quarries. They are hard to build but in the end, they add more play time and for mod like galactic craft they add more exploration and more fun and crazy ways of building. Watch out though there are enemies in the game. If you are playing on a server that you will definitely have enemies that are players. If you are playing on single-player though, you will find an array of enemies. The most common ones are creepers, zombies, skeletons, spiders, and worst of all the endermen. They can all be stooped from spawning by making sure to add torches in and around paths, near homes, or important places like mines. Some of the more uncommon ones are the poisonous spiders, and the spider jockey. Poisonous spiders can only be spawned by spawners in caves and dungeons. Spider jockeys on the other hand are rare and most players don't see them because their spawn rate is so low. The only two hostile mobs left in vanilla Minecraft are bosses. Next up is the nether mobs. There are blazes, wither skeletons, and zombie pigmen. The two bosses left are the Wither and the ender dragon. The only way to spawn a Wither is with getting 3 wither skeletons and putting it on top of the T shaped soul sand you have to build. The other boss, the ender dragon, is in a different dimension. You must look for a dungeon that has the End portol and have on you ender eyes. You then have to place them to activate them. Please make sure you have a bow with power x, fire 2, and infinity has the boss rarely goes near you and you cant fly. There are mods that add boss like the twilight forest adds a group of bosses like the hydra and more dimensions.
